why does the car turn off when i come to a stop

first off check your battery connection one might be loose or your positive might be getting grounded out with something. also try giving it a tune up with new plugs and wires it sounds like it might be loosing a spark, try a new distributor cap and rotor too.

#1 reason! bad alternator! #2 reason bad i.a.c. valve(idle air control)
