Question type: Maintenance & Repair

IF CLUTCH BEARINGS ARE BAD IN A/C COMPRESSOR DO YOU HAVE TO DRAIN ALL FREON OUT OF A/C COMPRESSOR? MY A/C works just making noise.

No you can replace just the hub and clutch assembly without removing the compressor, it is a bit of a pain but it can be done.

Only if you remove it from the engine. Leave the pipes connected, but be careful not to bend or twist them. The clutch is not connected to the inside of the compressor. Have fun. One hour job that will take 5?
