Idling high and blows white smoke at highway speed

When starting idles rough sometimes dies
then heats up idles high and when at
highway speed it blows white smoke
doesn't over heat and no coolant in oil

It still maybe a head gasket, in the early stages you may not notice any change in the engine oil, but a miss that happens on initial start up then slowly goes away is a sure sign of coolant in a combustion chamber. A simple block check will tell the tale.

What Engine is in this vehicle. Automatic or Standard Tranny. Does this vehicle have power brakes?
