While driving on the freeway,a belt broke. Now the battery light is on and it's over heating. What's wrong

Because the alternator and water pump are no longer turning.


What's wrong? The belt broke.


The alternator and water pump is run by the belt. Alternator charges the battery and the water pump, well it keeps the engine from over heating.
