I have a 2000 Chevy Malibu mileage is only 148000 and it's hard for the car to switch out of lower gear I haven't had any problems with the car so far, what could be the issue?
Had the car for 6 years with no
problem but it went threw a little
flood damage, but the car was never
Sticky shift solenoids is my first guess, they are a common failure, see if there are any trans codes in the computer memory. But don't wait too long these trannies won't last long if the shift pressures aren't correct.
Also check the fluid when it is hot. If its low add some lucas trans stop slip ( its almost to 175k which is considered high milage) make sure u check it in neutral with the car hot and put the parking brake on. Have u ever gotten a trans flush? DONT if u have never. It will kill it instantly cause the cars used to that fluid.
