How to reset check engine light on 2000 impala
I replaced the crankshaft pulley on my 2000 Impala. Now I need to reset the check engine light. How do I reset it?
If you have a scanner tool (OBD-II) you can reset it with that, or you could just disconnect your battery for 30 mins.
Disconnecting the battery can cause unintended problems, like the alarm setting off, radio turning on anti thieft, stuff like that, so if you don't have a scanner that can clear it, the best is to locate the ECM fuses and remove them, and make sure you get the KAM fuse also, wait about 30 seconds to 1 minute then replace the fuses, start engine and drive as you normally do for about 15 minutes and that should do it.
