Mercedes benz c230

Asked by Apr 25, 2016 at 06:49 PM about the 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 320 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My neighbor bought an 02 mercedes c320. It
would not start at all. My husband got it to start
but now it won't run. It will crank but dies as soon
as it starts... we have replaces MAF. Position crank
sensor. Check fuel filter, fuel lines and fuel rail.
Replaced the PCM. Checked the plugs and wires.
Original key so no anti-theft issues I don't think.
Battery is good, Altinator is good... Everything is
working fine, it just won't stay running..... any
advice?

May have a bad fuel pump. Check the fuel pressure, depending on what motor is in there, pressure should be 47 to 60 lbs.

My husband just got done checking the pump it's function fine as well.

Replaced the PCM Why? I assume you purchased a re manufactured bench flashed(computer) unit. I see you checked fuel pressure at the fuel rail 48psi OK..was it scanned for codes before all parts were changed? If no fuel pressure... check FUSES,Relays, and fuel PUMP. Regards

When my neighbor bought it the PCM was fried. The car has never ran since we started working on it so we have no idea what all problems it had initially. My husband got it to start cranking and it tries to start but now we can't get it to stay running.... Thank you guys for the suggestions we will check the relays and fuses next.

Has he had it running 5-10 sec... not just "firing"?

It ran for 2 seconds. It died before i could get "victory"out of my mouth.
