I have replaced two low beam bulbs on the drivers side within two weeks on my 2002 Mercedes C320. Whats making them burn out?

Asked by Mar 04, 2014 at 03:50 PM about the 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 320 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the L turn signal bulb and the L rear tail bulb.  These were easy enough and were inexpensive.  The low beam bulbs were a different matter, costing more and requiring more expertise, due to the high voltage, but we got it done.  Now the bulbs have burned out twice.  Whats going on?

Most likely the ballast on that side is going over voltage and frying the bulb as that is the most common problem but you need to check all of the power feeds and ground pathways for the ballasts just to make sure.
