The pad? You can actually purchase new pads for the pedals. Or salvage yard a new accelerator pedal assembly too,

To say this is a potential safety hazard is an understatement. I'm not sure which engine you have: 4.3L V6, 5.0L V8 or 5.7 L V8, but a reputable place called Rock Auto has this part for $10.61 (I checked for the 4.3L V6). ---Or maybe see if it's in stock at a Pep Boys/Auto Zone, etc. See the Rock Auto.com information on this weblink: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1358580,parttype,1548

As far as fixing it...looks like the pin and spring assembly are all that need to be replaced (besides the pad itself). If you have the Service Manual for your Chevy, it should show you how....If you can't do it, play it safe and have it done by your mechanic (won't cost much at all)...If you're a regular customer, he may not charge you at all :) Maybe bring him some hot coffee and a couple of donuts?
