How to fix engine start-up

In a 5% chance the ignition key won't start the car. Only the dashboard lights up. I have to disconnect, then reconnect the battery for the engine to work again.


What is the voltage on the battery? Maybe the ignition switch is faulty? Have it check out. Better than to be stranded somewhere.
