what is wrong w my car
radiator leak out and car lost combustion so towed
car home got new radiator and thermostat and
hoses n radiator cap all new so installed then filled
radiator turned it over sounds ok but the coolant
research boils over ,,plz help w ideas questions or
thoughts also could it be the water pump
was bleeder on top hose at engine opened for taking out air and recapped when coolant started spurting?? this should be done while filling new coolant mix to prevent overheating. all air pockets need to be taken out by opening that bleeder.
the brass fitting is the vent. keep it loose but do not take fully off.
It was drive without coolant until it stopped running? Is that what that first sentence means? If so your head gaskets are gone if not worse.
if the head gaskets are bowl wudnt there be a noise associated.or is the prob the water or air coming out of system to the reserve tank
Jason the bleeder u spoke of was not open
does nt the cap on the reservoir tank have a vent on it
when the coolant is empty from the radiator, you must open that little screw when filling up and engine running. when full, the screw should be spurting coolant . tighten the cap about snug to 10 ft/lbs. just tight but not too hard. this is done to purge air. the cap will not get it all.
i hope all else is ok with the engine. change the oil too incase of heat breakdown.
if under the water pump is dry when engine runs... water pump bearing is good. weep hole leaks then change it.
