I'd sell or trade it in. This vehicle is 17 years old and the cost to replace the transmission will be more than it's worth. HTH. - Jim

The only thing that needs to be fixed is the transmission and the Timing chain/belt is loose and everything else has be fixed...still sell? If I do how much should I ask for, it has excellent interior,...everything is new, brakes, spent 3000 a couple years back...

Unfortunately, with a bad transmission and worn timing chain it's not worth much. Maybe $500. I'm assuming with the worn timing chain it's a high mileage vehicle? A few years ago a friend had a '97 Blazer with just over 200,000 miles on it. Same deal, the transmission quit and was throwing several trouble codes. I gave him the same advice, move on. He didn't listen and replaced the transmission with a used one. Guess what, about 6 months later that transmission quit too. THEN he did what I told him, again. He junked it for $250! There comes a point with every vehicle when it's not worth putting money in it. You'll never get out of it what you put into it. It just doesn't work that way. Especially with an older model. You reach a point where you're throwing good money after bad. If you like Blazers get a newer one, with less miles on it, that doesn't need major repairs like a transmission and timing chain. Chevy made a TON of these vehicles over the years so you can get a newer one, no problem. HTH. -Jim

KBB.com says it's only worth about $200 on a trade in and about $1000 if you sell it yourself. That's assuming it runs and drives. I'd push for $500 on a trade in and be done with it. HTH. -Jim
