What the newest 4wd Chevy Blazer transmission interchangeable with a 2000 Blazer?
Trying to replace the transmission on a 2000 4 Dr LS 4wd chevy blazer and wanted to know what is the latest year that is compatible with the 2000 model.
Ok from what I can tell you have the L35 4.3L, which was used from 1996 to 2002. After 2002 they switched to the LU3. So if you have a auto 2002 would be the newest tranny that you could get that would bolt right up. You have a 4L60-E. It can also be found in full size GM trucks and SUV's from 1993 to late 1998 (they switched to the new bell housing styles with the new body style in 1999). If you have the manual I believe the 2005 is the last year. But it could have been used elsewhere more recently.
Trying bto find out if 1996 blazer is compatable with a 2000 chevy blazer LS
4x4 tranny swap to 4x4.... But if it's a 4x2 (rear wheel drive) then swap with another 4x2.... My understanding is that the tailshafts are different between those 2. You can google it and there are plenty of YouTube videos on this subject......
