Chevrolet Blazer Zrz 4x4 issue

Asked by Jan 27, 2015 at 11:15 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 2-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer Zr2, there is an issue with my 4x4. The 4x4 engages and works but when I have it engaged I get some "wobble" on my front passenger side. When I dissengage the 4x4 it goes away, what could this be and how do I fix it?

Check the cv joint on that side. had a similar issue with a Silverado pickup. the rubber boot was cracked an allowed moisture to ruin the cv joint.

I agree with Mike. The only thing that is different when the 4 wheel drive is activated is the front axles are engaged. It very well could be a cv joint that is bad and under load, it is creating the wobble or unbalanced feeling in the front end.

Are all of your tires the same size and brand?

@Bob, Yes 31 inch BF GoodRich All-terrains T/As all balanced brand new

Then I would do like the other posters said and check the front CV joints.

We figured it out. Crawled under the truck noticed the cv axle had disconnected from the drive line. Just resnapped that bad boy back in and we're 4 wheelin again. Thanks everyone
