'99 Dodge Ram 2500 V8 Not Charging

Asked by Yeetle_Yeetle_Beetle... Jul 24, 2018 at 09:30 PM about the 1999 Dodge RAM 2500 ST LB 4WD

Question type: General

So I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 that has a new
alternator, new battery and I have checked all the
fuses yet the gauge still reads around 12 volts. The
truck had been running fine but when this problem
popped up the truck no longer goes out of 2nd
gear and it won't go into overdrive. Also now the
radio turns off and on randomly. Also yes, all things
such as the headlights, windshield wipers, and
most of the dash still work.

Are you sure the alternator is good? Because it should read 14 with both working.

Yes, I've replaced it twice thinking that I had just gotten a dud but no that didn't fix it
