Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was in the process of doing a simple tune up and modification to my venture for work.
These modification include a CB radio and a new pioneer radio. I had the plugs and
wires done on the engine and I had taken the radio out due to it was not working and
doing so triggered the security system (yes I did remove the battery before doing so)
and when I put the new battery in the security system came on. I just replaced the
starter and battery 2 days prior to this and the fuel pump was engaging however the van
security light came on and all it did is click and it would kill the power to the whole
thing and not try to click until 3 hours later and it did the same thing. Could it be the
Ignition lock or the radio. It has 240,000 miles and it was running just fine until it 5 days
before the tune up.

It sure can. Best thing to do is put back the original radio and hide it somewhere behind the dash since it doesn't work. Then you can put the new radio back in the hole in the dash. Just make sure that the old one is plugged in and properly grounded. HTH. -Jim
