I have spent a week trying to find out what is wrong with my fuel pump. It
doesn't seem to be getting power. It was working fine. I went in the store,
and when I came out it wouldn't start. I have spark, and it will start with
starting fluid. I have checked all the fuses, relays, and grounds. i'm getting
frustrated, so someone gave me the idea of an inline electric pump. Will it
work in a 5.9 gas engine?
so theres no power at the fuel tank/pump ? did you try and follow where it has power? a inline pump wont work...if you jump the pump with 12 volts it runs right? if the pump is ok/does run...you could tap into another switched power sorce .....
Running a separate power supply will tell you if you have a bad pump for sure. as far as putting in an inline pump it's a no go, you would have to modify the existing fuel pickup tube to make it work, you can't draw enough fuel through the existing pump to make the engine run. Besides they are expensive for pressures that high.
HEY....I SAID THAT...PHEEEEEW HI, TS...K
