Dodge diesel problem

I have a 1998 Dodge Cummings Diesel 2500 it runs
very well and periodically will lose power then it
won't run I'll stop turn it off sorry backhoe let it
blows up start it up and then it runs fine and then
how the clear blue will go to no power again what
is the problem I have change fuel filter
