Shifting rough

I have a 97 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 that seems to be
shifting rough when going forward it also makes a
clunk sound when going into reverse and when put
in park it kind of rolls forward quite a bit people tell
me that's just what they do but that is not how it
was when I first got it please help any ideas just
replace the speed sensor

Sounds like internal issues with the trans. I would check the fluid condition. if you see shaving and the fluid is dark, the trans is out for sure. Good luck :-)
