i have an 05 ram 1500 4x4 and on cold starts i am hearing a grinding/binding noise coming from my front end and it will only last for about a 1\2 mile then after it goes away it sounds like a cv shaft or a wheel bearing huming and it is favarable to the passenger side. the grinding noise sounds like its coming from my front drive shaft or the trsansfer case. supper confused?

Just need to get under it and check it out. More than likely it would be a front wheel bearing but I'm just guessing. Jack up each side and see if there is any slop in the wheels pulling back and forth on them, for the wheel bearings. Look for any torn boots on the cv shafts, if there is a torn boot then more than likely a cv joint. Any one of what you mentioned could be the problem.
