Got knocking noise from air con. compressor when engine running. Took belt off to see if pulley would still turn which it turn fine but didn't hear much after turn pulley by hand. Help!

Take the belt off and start it to see if the noise is still there. Like tennisshoes says, may be the bearing under load.
