Fuel pump

Just changed fuel pump and forgot to put
rubber seal around the top will that harm
anything

you'll probably smell gas at times , the pump may rotate and get real loose , there's a one in a million chance it could explode , any debris that happens to fall in will get screened by the net the pump has or the filter or you might not have any problems at all
