Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 RAM 1500 will not crank at times with the heater fan on.  If I turn fan off, turn key once or twice, it starts.  Is there a relay somewhere hanging up when fan is on that prevents voltage to starter?

There is a relay but each one has it's own. Check battery voltage, it should be minimum 12.4. Check the battery cables for corrosion and make sure they're tight. If cables are ok, check voltage signal at the starter solenoid as you try to start it to see if voltage is actually getting to the starter, if there's no voltage then you need to trace it back to the starter relay or ignition switch
