since yours is newer than mine, (i have a 96) i dont know if i can help much, but mine just started doing the same thing, i can get mine to shift, but it takes a little longer than it should, ive noticed on EVERY automatic i have drove that you need to push the brake pedal to shift out of park, well since the day i bought my truck, i never had to do that, like maybe the safety is busted or something, so i guess try pushing the pedal maybe? if that dont help then you might just have a linkage arm loose or broken
