It is on top of the fuel pump sending unit assemply which is located in the fuel tank! The only way to get the fuel filter is to buy the sending unit.

Are you certain that it is on the sending unit and in the tank? I am getting conflicting info. One that says it is a simple in-line filter, one that says there are two filters and then this one. Also, that it is on the sending unit, but outside the tank. Does the location differ depending on 2WD, 4WD, SLT, 5.7. 3.9, 4.7, etc....?

And, it is definitely inside the fuel tank? And, there is no external, in-line filter?

I have a question I need to replace the fuel pump on my 05 dodge ram 1500 hemi is it doable by myself and some basic tools

_5.7 Hemi has filter and pump located on top of the fuel tank may be easier to access by taking the bed off of the truck if your fuel pump is bad you will be able to hear the pump kick in under the vehicle with the key turned from Off to On if this does not occur your pump is probably bad also when you change the fuel pump make sure dirt around the top of the rim where the pump goes into the top of the tank is still early clean and the seal is completely turned back so no dirt falls into your new pumpI have changed 3 pumps on a Dodge Ram 2500 series if your vehicle starts and shuts off immediately you probably have a feeling Dodge Ram fuel pumpthis work is for an intermediate experienced person and a good strong helper you need overhead to lift the bed roll your vehicle forward a little and you can access your fuel pump problem

Ltake caution while replacing your fuel pump you have gasoline makes your battery is disconnected no electrical wires or electrical lights need to be anywhere in proximity of your work through the fuel film any kind of lighting you you should be isolated battery type LED lights extension half inch extension 10 inch with impact wrench is recommended for removing your mounting bolts rear lights are easily unplugged slide the red retainer clip to the left and pinch at the top of where the wires plug into the casing and pull famil

I know there is a filter that is connected to the fuel sending unit inside the gas tank but is there two. Is this a secondary inline fuel filter? It reads 'Filter on it".

02Rammer, That is the Vapor Canister. More EPA crap, it contains a valve/solenoid and a charcoal filter. The vapor canister reduces the amount of evaporated fuel a car or truck emits. A fuel tank requires some type of vent to reliably dispense fuel to the engine. Without a vent, negative pressure builds up in the fuel tank and prevents fuel from flowing to the rest of the fuel system. When the vehicle is parked, evaporated fuel makes it way through the vents and into the atmosphere. Vacuum canisters utilize activated charcoal to trap fuel in the system before it contaminates the environment. Some vacuum canisters feature one-way check valves to ensure water doesn’t contaminate the vehicle’s fuel tank.

Ok so I'm not getting any fuel from that cannister. My truck sometimes starts, sometimes doesn't. Sometimes starts runs for a while then stops and won't restart

This is the box with the two canisters. One has numbers (p)5303837 (t)ca2122b1046. I have a 03 ram 1500 4.7 gas engine ? Any ideas or thoughts.
