My son has a ticking noise in his truck. Think it's a lifter, anyway to get rid of it.

You can try a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in the crankcase but if that don't work then it will be time for a cam/lifter job.

Tennisshoes is right-on but first make sure the oil is full to proper level and has been changed in the last 6 months or 5000 miles
