02 dodge ram. 5.9 L engine. Smell coolant. Only engine heat then minimum l. Fluid changed along with thermostat. Not sure if water pump or heater core?
Hard to tell what the problem is from your information. If you smell coolant then there is a leak somewhere. Check the hoses and radiator and take a look to see if there are any puddles under the car.
No puddles under truck looked for that already. Only smell is at very front after it has run. All hoses are good. No water inside of truck making me think heater core. No real loss of antifreeze either
Make sure all the clamps are tight. If you re-used old factory clamps you may want to get some good quality screw type clamps. For tiny leaks, add some Alumaseal.
Thanks ill try that. Someone told me head gaskets
