So a stopped up cat can cause an engine to have a lack of power due to back pressure. This sometimes feels like a transmission problem because you're not able to attain the proper RPM's to shift to the next gear. Somethings that may lead to a stopped up cat are burning engine oil, coolant or running too rich. www.autotechadvisor.com
