Mis firing issues i think
I changed plugs and wires on my 2002 ram
1500 and did oil change... Before this... My
truck had good acceleration. And power
aftet this its not pulling anymore like its
misfiring...the power is gone the take off
speed is gone and its like the engine is
stuttering and i cant accelrate fast at all
fastest so far i think was 60 mph give or
take and that was on the highway....i dont
know what to do...i have the v8 slt model... I
dont know if its the 4.7 or the 5.9 version but
any answers would greatly. Be appriciated
Someone. Suggested i gap the spark plugs but i read that the titanium. And platinum ones come pre gapped and if i attempt. To gap them i could risk taking off something on the firing part of plug
Try aic valve
Aic valve...ok... What do i do. Im kinda. New to the mechanic world
Do u mean iac valve?
I think its one of spark plug wires got crossed up and on the wrong plug.
Ok i did all wires one by one so i know they ate in the right order
If it was fine before and now its not I would double check and the gap, and all wires tight make sure a electrical connector for another part did not come loose somewhere, a vacuum line could of came off, check all around thereand listen for hiss of a vacuum leak. Otherwise I would consider the basics like filters (fuel Air) first Some of these new plug wires that are the cheaper versions that cost 40 bucks can ark right out of the box, I always use Dielectric grease on the inside of the boot, Use a match stick and put a dab and apply it to the inside of boot not the inside metal area but where the white insulation of the plug rest and make sure none of the wire (wires) are touching each other or metal, I have had to use rubber vacuum hose for some that I could not keep apart with Dielectric grease lining the inside of the vac hose (cut long ways & wrap it around wire) to keep some from arking, even on older $70 wires.
Ill give it a look see n see if anything is crossed or loose.... But the wires came greased on the ends when i bought them...im gonna seperate them and reconnect themand check gaps on plugs as well again
