Question type: Maintenance & Repair

cruise lit comes on when truck is first started and then goes out so bulb must be good.  but when i push button on steering wheel to start cruise control, the cruise lite won't come on and cruise control won't work.      is there a fuse for cruise control? and where? and what's it called in the fuse panel?

Sounds like your switch for cruise control may be bad. If the bulb is illuminating, the circuit is good - so not a fuse. You may also have a problem with the clockspring in the steering wheel, or with the wiring for the cruise buttons. Have this checked by a dealership.

I had a similar problem twice. I had to replace a vacuum hose that runs from the right side of the engine across the front and then under the battery pan. Find that hose and inspect it along its length. The first time I repaired it with a small kit from an auto parts store. The second time I replace the entire hose. This was not expensive - under $10.00. The local Dodge dealer ordered it for me since I was unable to find it at any auto parts store. The hose was specialized for form, fit and function.
