I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2l that cranks over fine but will not start. I have changed plugs, wires, crank sensor, map sensor, and checked all fuses and relays. why wont it start?
Do you have proper fuel pressure? And are there any check engine codes coming up? Check for fuel, and then make sure you're getting proper spark. If those check out I'd do a compression test. If the check engine light is on and it comes up with any Crank/Cam/Timing codes I'd try a camshaft or crank sensor, and if that doesn't resolve it you could have a broken/jumped timing chain
Thank you. I did the crank sensor, have fuel and spark. I am thinking timing chain, but was trying to avoid that avenue till LAST!!!! Was hoping someone stumbled across a simple but stupid cause. Gonna hit the timing chain tomorrow morn and see how it looks. Thanks anyway.
