The transmission from my 2000 dodge ram runs fine when its cold but as soon as it gets hot it won't get gears n shifts itself back to neutral...pls help

I believe im having the same problem mine goes just fine for a couple hundred yards then goes out I shut the truck off let the sensors reset and start it back up and it will go a couple hundred more yards and go back out.... is that what yours is doing?
