i have a dodge ram 1500 5.9 truck and i change the sensors the oil pump and
the filter and still marks the oil 40 persent
Put a manual oil pressure gauge on it to verify the condition is could be a bad sender or even the stock gauge.
and which is that you are saying
A manual gauge, most parts stores stock them, that way you can compare the pressures between the two gauges, and it is rated in lbs not percent.
Your stock oil gauge is the one in the instrument cluster where the speedometer and voltmeter are.
40% or 40 psi
I am assuming that "40 percent) is actually 40 psi. I was taught that 1 pound of pressure for every 100 rpm was acceptable for a stock engine. My 1999 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 averages around 40-50 psi @ 1800 rpm.it has 278,000 miles on it.
