Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 will not crank
Ok i went out to go to work my truck would not turn over or even try to move the fly
wheel ..so i went ahead and replaced battery and also replaced the starter the wires look
good you here the starter engage but will not turn the fly wheel please help!!!
Remove the spark plugs and try to crank it. If it will then crank look for coolant spurting out of the spark plug hole(s). If that's what you see you've got a blown head gasket and one or more of the cylinders has coolant in it. Since coolant won't compress the engine is hydrostaticly locked. HTH. -Jim
one thing i did notice also was when i attached new battery amp were showing it like that but when ever i turn on the ing now it shows right at 12
Try this, turn on the headlights and try to start it. If the lights stay nice and bright it's the starter or neutral safety switch. If they dim, flicker or go out it's a bad battery, battery cable connection, or the engine is locked as mentioned above. HTH. -Jim
