Dodge truck needs computer
I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9 (360)will
my 200 dodge ram 1500 computer work in the 99
they have the same engine and same Trans I have
been told they will not enter change
That's right, they won't, the numbers on the ECM,s have to match. If you attempt to hook it up you could fry the ECM as well as some of the other control componets.
they actually should interchange - verify the part numbers and ID numbers off each one first, if they are the same they can be swapped.
no....like i said yesterday
You have everything the same, engine and trany. The one thing you have to know is how many teeth are on the ring tone for the crank sensor. That has to match what the ECU reads. During those years they had a 16 tooth ring tone and a 32 tooth ring tone. The ring tone is inside the engine on the crankshaft. Only way to change it would be to pull the engine and take the crankshaft out. Easier to find the right ECU and wiring harness.
I have a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 sometime it just cut off on me I try to start it back up but it spins but will not start all of the lights they have fire to them but when I switch the on the indash light they are on but the gages they don't move I let.it set in a min or so I turn the key everything working start up run for a minute then it shat back off can you tell me what wrong with it
