I have a 99 dodge 1500 4x4 4dr Laramie truck. I was driving up the road and it would not shift into passing gear ( its automatic with 318 engine) it will not move in any gear now is it pump in transmi
Check the trans fluid level and color, if it is dark and smells burnt it maybe too late, if it is low refill it and see if it will go into gear, if it does then get it serviced immediately and pay close attention to any metal shavings in the pan, if it don't then it is time for a tranny. HTH
The fluid looked fine n was not low its never slipped or made any noise I was told it was transfer case so I bought a used one then after I got mine out it worked fine so now I'm being told by half ass mechanics that my pump in tranny is shot I'm tired of spending money n getting no where and do you know if I can even buy just a pump if so where?
Most parts stores will have a front pump, but you have to pull the tranny to get to it.
