I have a 2001 Chevy suburban and I think my transmission went out And now I Kant start my kar and it won't let me put it in park what Kan I do to put it in park that way I start it up plz help me ....
Try this: Set park brake, firmly apply foot brake, turn on key put gear selector in neutral, try to start it, if that won't work try starting it in reverse or drive, but be careful if it does start in one of the gears it will want to move. I am thinking that you may have a selector switch that has broke or has loosened up and changed it's placement. If that is actually the problem it will be cheaper that a transmission. If it does and you can drive it then get it fixed as soon as possible, electronic transmissions and control units don't like getting mixed signals, so driveabality is in question. HTH
