i getting trouble code:PO308 which tell me Cylinder no. 8 misfire detected! How can i fix this!
This can be caused by a number of things. Most common is bad plug wire, bad spark plug or failed distributor cap. Other issues can be a burned valve, leaking head gasket, intake manifold leak or a ventilated piston. Swap the spark plug with one from a different cyliner and see if the problem follows. You can do same with the wires. Visuallly inspect the distributor car inside and out. Look for carbon tracks or cracks. Intake leak is detected by spraying brake cleaner or carb cleaner on the parting line between manifold and head. If rpm picks up there's the problem. Valve/gasket/piston issues require compression or leakdown testing. Good Luck!
Yep it's probably plugs or wires. Make sure you use a certain brand of plug and wire and gap them or check if pregapped. And update if you figured it out please to help others not worry and to help even more with same issues in years to come.
P0308 came up as well on my 97. Did all the usual diagnostics. All other Cyl compression around-170, Cyl#8-105 -(exhaust valve no doubt) Now if your compression checks out, be sure to Google Dodge's TSB on Correct Sparkplug Wire Route for that model. Seems to affect cyl#8 more than others. Good Luck!
