Take the battery out and have it recharged and tested, if it fails the test replace it, when you put a battery back in, use the key and manually lock and unlock the drivers door if the alarm is still set, sometimes you have to do this from the passenger door depending on how the system was wired. Your radio might be in anti thieft mode now too, a dealer can reset it, or you can try some of the codes listed on the Internet.

After you do get it running have the charging system check right away, if it is not working you will kill the battery you just put in.

I lost my key fob and could not get the factory alarm to shut off, The passenger door lock was the secret.

I have a Dodge Ram 1500. The remote key that disarms the factory alarm won't disengage the security system. Their is supposed to be some hidden switch some place, but no one knows where it is.

Zephyr, this post is over a year old, you might have more responses if you start a fresh thread and also need the year.

dodge is a piece of chit, can't even change a battery without the dealer being involved. Drive leave it on the other side of town with the keys in it and a set of jumper cables in the back seat and leave it! I went back to Ford after having a Ram for a week. The door alarm, the radio.....everything except the positraction read end is garbage...but stock in gasoline.
