Pressing the brakes and hear suction from under
the dash area

The power brake booster has vacuum applied to it in order for it to boost your brake pedal effort. Sounds like the diaphragm in the booster is ruptured. The booster is the big round thing behind the master cylinder (where the brake fluid goes). You will very likely need a new booster.
