Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok I am having a problem with a what sounds like a vacuum leak inside the
cab of my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 when I press on the brakes.  It stops
sometimes but I believe it is a bad power booster anyone have any other
ideas?  I ordered one and will be installing it as soon as I get it in and will
update you guys on my prognosis.  However if anyone thinks it might be
something else please let me know.  Thanks.

Sounds like your in the right direction, but some times a brake master cylinder will do this all so,hows the brake pedal feel?

If brake pedal feels normal and brakes are good,it will be the booster giving you the air sound when brakes are applied,

Ok, so today I replaced the brake booster and it stops like it was brand new. No more vacuum leaks. :-) So happy now.
