My 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.9L will cut out during acceleration and sometimes die. No check engine light comes on. What can be the problem?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the fuel pump about 6 months ago.  Haven't had any problems in that regard
since.  I thought I would get an engine light if it was as O2 sensor.

Could be a throttle position sensor. That won't give you a code. Could be a crank sensor as well. That too may not give you a code. Since it's on acceleration I would look at the throttle position sensor first.
