a 46RE (electronically controlled) from a 94-2002 truck will work you just need to match the torque converter to your engine, 5.2 V8s and 5.9V8s have a different torque conveter. Also a 46RH which is a hydraulic unit from a 91-93 will work, but again the two V8s have a different torque converter.
