are the ball joints on a 1996 ram 1500 pressed in / can they be changed without a press
my 97 had ones that did not need a press to change
probly just need to hit them with a rubber mallet
they usealy need pressed in and pressed out
Both the upper and the lower ball joints get pressed in. A little heat on the area around the ball joint will help a lot for removal. You should be able to get them out without a press. Remember to remove retaining rings before attempting to remove them.
even though these are "pressed" in you can use a "C" clamp or a hammer to get the old one out then use the nut to pull the new one into place or "press" it in.
