Why is my car not reading any problems when I hook up to the obd2 when my Chevy Malibu 2001 cuts out and won't start till I let it sit for a couple of hours then it runs again for a little while cutting out again ?

I have a Chevy Malibu that acts like it's not getting any gas I hooked it up to the OBD2
and that doesn't pick up anything wrong with the car but if I let the car sit for 2 hours than
it runs for a little while again cutting out doing the repeat malfunction ?

You'll only have a trouble code if the check engine light comes on. In order to see what's happening while it's happening you'll need a more sophisticated scan tool. When it dies and refuses to start. Check the basics first. Do you have fuel (fuel pump will run)? Do you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail service port? Do you have spark? HTH. -Jim
