When trying to use my 4wd on 1994 Dodge 1500,the wheels seem to go opposite ways.
The wheels are going opposite ways when ? The wheels will spin in opposite directions when you jack up the axle and spin one side.
then you have an "open" differential, which is what most trucks are equipped with from the factory.
All "posi" rear axles will act the same as an "open" differential until they are on the ground (or someone holds the other side from spinning), unless you have a "locked" posi rear axle which will spin both tires in the same direction when lifted off the ground. With a true "open" differential, one wheel can be on the ground and the other in the air and you will be able to spin the lifted tire freely by hand.
