How to replace battery

To begin, if you have some latex gloves that would be to your benefit. Don't smoke during this job. Un hook the negative terminal first, that's in case you hit a wrench on the frame while unhooking the positive, get the positive off, and then see how it's secured. Unbolt the bracket, it probably has two long rods that hook to the bottom of the battery case, all the while keeping in mind don't touch any tools or parts from positive to frame. Lift it out. There are devices that grab the terminals to give you a handle to use, if you choose to invest in one. Re install same way in reverse, hooking up positive last. While you have the cables off, clean them, you can get a terminal/cable brush for a buck

Some GM vehicles have one block at the base on the battery that holds it to the tray. Usually it's a 1/2" bolt and you'll need 8" of extensions.

Right on tenspeed. I didn't think of that, so oldmandown (interesting username eh?) listen to him, he knows what he's talking about. Have that extension on hand..kinda hard to zip to the parts store with the battery half out
