How do i fix my s1o from leaking gas

My s10 leaks gas out of what they say is a purge canister i think not sure its a black box that the fuel line runs to an it has a sensor on it when i crank the truck up it pours out gas an wont stop how do i fix it

It is the evap cannister and it's made out of plastic and this commonly cracks. I think if you replace this you won't be leaking anymore. Inspect the hoses going to it as well.

That canister is for vapor only .It should never have fuel coming from it. Is the check engine light on ? If so scan the OBD 2 for any stored codes.
