Are there any other locations in the car for fuses?

Asked by Nov 15, 2014 at 07:21 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My turn indicators are not working. I checked the fuses and all seemed good as far as
I could tell. I've been to the garage with the problem, and they fixed it (no charge) and
told me it was just a blown fuse. A few days later, the indicators don't work again. I
checked the fuse in the passenger compartment again, and it's still fine. From the
diagram in the engine fuse block, there is no fuse for turn indicators in there. I already
called the garage, and they told me to bring it in, but I want to avoid charges for this as
I doubt I'll get lucky and not be charged twice. Are there more fuses somewhere in the
car other than the ones in the passenger compartment, and the ones in the block
under the hood?

Nope that's both of them. If you don't see a blown fuse, use a ohm meter and remove them one at a time for testing. If you do find another blown fuse the turn signal circuits need to be checked professionally but you don't have to use a dealer, an independent shop can find it.

Or if your feeling adventurous, purchase a shop manual with wiring diagrams in it and start tracing down the circuits.
