2000 chevy s-10 extended cab 4 cyl 5 speed 2.2 L
is there another engine type for this truck?
My parts seem to be difficult to find. for instance all specks indicate a 1 wire oxygen sensor but mine has 4 wires.
Looks like the upstream oxygen sensor has 2 wires while the downstream has 4. I did see one listed on rockauto.com with only 1 wire for the upstream oxygen sensor but I'd be leery of it. It's the cheepo beepo one. HTH. -Jim
Thank you Jim. I have had trouble ever since I moved to California. Very tuff emissions control here. It appears that my Catalytic Converter had been replaced with a non compliant one for this state, So I had that changed . now my check engine light wont stay off.
You're welcome. Glad to help. Thank you for the best answer click! Yes, a California Emissions compliant vehicle takes a different catalytic converter than a Federal Emissions vehicle. Both my '03 S-10 Pick Up and '00 Grand Prix are California compliant. The S-10 was originally delivered to Delaware and the Grand Prix to New Jersey. -Jim
So how do I know which one to buy? My s-10 is from Texas.I already had the catalytic converter replaced but now the check engine light wont stay off.
What trouble code(s) do you have? Visit your local auto parts store and ask them to scan the computer. Most stores will do it for free. There's over 100 things that can trigger the check engine light. Post the code(s) and we can go from there. HTH. -Jim
